Job Overview

Job Purpose

To make a contribution to the project: ‘Importing Knowledge: Italian Books in Scottish University Libraries’ (funded by the Carnegie Trust), working with Dr Shanti Graheli. The project investigates the importance of Italian books to the making of knowledge in early modern Scotland, through the study of copies held in Scottish university and college libraries. Specifically, the job requires knowledge in the history of the handpress book. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help to successfully deliver this project as opportunities allow. There is the possibility of pursuing limited individual research under the project’s general theme. 

Standard Terms & Conditions

Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 6, £28,660 – £32,236 per annum, pro rated to 300 hours.

This post is part time and fixed term up to 31 December 2019.

Total hours for the contract will be 300 with no fixed working pattern. To be paid via timesheets.
