Applications are invited for Skills Development Fellowships funded by the Medical Research Council and the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre, to be held at King’s College London.
These capacity-building fellowships seek to recruit outstanding early-career postdoctoral scientists who are looking to develop new skills in shortage areas of mathematics, statistics and computation, and apply them to medical research. These Fellowships will allow researchers to explore, consolidate and further develop their skills in a priority area in which they are already active or in which they are seeking training. We are particularly keen to attract researchers from the quantitative backgrounds who wish to apply their skills to medical research.
These prestigious fellowships provide salary plus research and training costs for 3 years. Awards may be held in any part of the university but must be focused on one of the following Research Themes: (A) Genetics & Genomics, (B) Clinical & Health Informatics, (C) Medical Imaging & Computational Modelling and must involve training in a Skills Area of (1) Statistics, (2) Informatics, (3) Machine Learning and Predictive Modelling or (4) Mixed Methods & Health Economics.

- Covering letter, including explanation of choice of host department/school and academic sponsor (1-2 pages)
- CV, including publications and 2 referees (2 pages)
- Outline of the proposed research programme (2 pages)
- Outline of proposed training programme (1 page)
- Letter of support from proposed academic sponsor (1 page)
