Job Overview

With a proud heritage stretching back over 175 years, the University of Roehampton is a close-knit, supportive and diverse academic community. Located on a beautiful, 54-acre parkland campus in South-West London, historic buildings nestle alongside modern, cutting edge facilities which have earned it a reputation as one of the most striking campuses in the UK. Recent years have seen student numbers grow and overall satisfaction levels increase. These successes will be further built upon via the Institution’s new strategic plan 2019-2022.

The Department of Psychology is a high performing academic unit that provides accredited courses at both under and post-graduate levels. It has a thriving research culture and there is plentiful short course and CPD provision. The post of Head of Department will provide leadership across all of these activities, ensuring that students, staff and partners are able to benefit from the Department’s further progression and success.

The University is seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to this critical role. With an in-depth knowledge of psychology within the context of Higher Education, prospective candidates should have sound managerial experience, academic credibility and be fully invested in Roehampton’s mission and ethos. Reporting to the Deputy-Provost, the post-holder will be involved in the life of the University as well as the broader partnership environment.
