Job Overview

The University of Cambridge is one of the World’s leading teaching and research Universities, and this is an exciting new challenge.

The University is reviewing its postgraduate strategy, and the Postgraduate Funding Project seeks to address how we can work together more efficiently to streamline our postgraduate applicants’ route to securing the funding they need to study here.

We need to compete globally to continue to attract the very best postgraduate students. Access to funding is an incredibly important factor affecting their decision about where to study, and it is an area in which we want to improve, and which can help widen access to postgraduate study at Cambridge.

You will work closely with stakeholders and teams right across the Collegiate University, especially the central Student Funding team, representing them and ensuring the project team understands the processes, priorities and needs to deliver improvements. You will drive and support business change.

You will work closely with the project team and closely with UIS technical teams on solutions. You will also contribute as a member of the UIS BA team, and as part of the wider Delivery Management Office team (alongside Programme Managers, PMs and BA’s).

You will be an excellent communicator, skilled at forming effective working relationships with all stakeholders, and must be adept at understanding business objectives, delivering well-constructed and articulated requirements that ultimately will deliver successful outcomes. You will demonstrate an eagerness to identify, challenge and deliver business process improvements using a variety of approaches as appropriate. You will be pragmatic with the ability to apply both strong detail skills and see the wider context. A good understanding of both agile and waterfall approaches is desirable, as is any experience in the HE sector.

You will find a welcoming and supportive environment, coupled with a competitive benefits package, the practical advantages of working in a purpose built working environment in West Cambridge with good transport links, schools and a range of housing, is a combination that is hard to beat. We look forward to hearing from you.
